Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo recently dethroned MrBeast as the YouTuber with the most subscribers in 24 hours.
Ronaldo now holds the record for having the fastest-growing YouTube channel, a title originally held by MrBeast. In 24 hours, Ronaldo gained 20 million subscribers.
MrBeast still possesses the record for having the most YouTube subscribers, and as of this month, he has a following of 312 million. MrBeast was earning $54 million a year in 2022, mostly from ads on his YouTube videos, according to Forbes.

Amid MrBeast’s scandals and backlash, Ronaldo has slid in to steal his thunder. Ronaldo’s YouTube channel significantly grew after he revealed his new channel, UR Cristiano, to his 636 million Instagram followers on August 21. In less than 12 hours, Ronaldo gained 10 million subscribers, whereas one of MrBeast’s YouTube channels didn’t get to the amount for 132 days.
In a full 24 hours, Ronaldo reached 20 million subscribers, a massive jump from MrBeast’s record for the biggest single-day subscriber growth, which neared 2.1 million. Because Ronaldo had gotten so many followers so quickly, YouTube awarded him with a Golden Play Button, an award only given to YouTubers who get over a million subscribers within one day.
Ronaldo’s YouTube following is continually growing as he now has 30.8 million subscribers. His accomplishment was so major that British Broadcaster Piers Morgan commented on it via X, formerly Twitter.
“MrBeast set the YouTube record of gaining over 20 million subscribers in a 28-day period. Cristiano Ronaldo beat it in ONE day,” Piers wrote on X, adding: “Nuts!”
Ronaldo’s fan base’s loyalty is what earned him the honor, and just how much they support the soccer store is evident online. Many of his fans overwhelmed the comment section of MrBeast’s recent video 7 Days Stranded In A Cave to warn him that Cristiano was coming for his spot.
“Ronaldo Is Coming [laugh crying emoji],” a comment read. Another added, “Mr Beast vs Ronaldo is ready to start.”
News of Ronaldo’s milestone comes in the wake of all of the drama MrBeast has been at the center of as of late. In an attempt to calm the waves of harsh criticism, MrBeast released an apology video after a video resurfaced online of him using racial and homophobic slurs.
